Climate
Spain lies in the zone of subtropical climate. However, due to its varied
relief, the climate can be also diversified. The mountains cut the central part
of the country from a mild oceanic climate. Central Spain is dry and has high
daily and yearly temperature fluctuations of the air. During a hot summer, the
temperatures often exceed 40°C. The Andalusia is the hottest region. Nevertheless,
it happened that the temperatures in winter fell below -20°C. In the north,
on the Atlantic coast, there is a clear influence of the ocean. This typical
sea climate has temperatures in winter that usually exceed 10°C, but in
the summer they do not exceed 20 °C. There is a lot of rainfall in this
region. Tourists in Spain choose usually eastern and southern coasts for holiday,
due to its favorable Mediterranean climate with dry and hot summers. The average
temperature in July and August in Murcia and Alicante amounts to 26°C. It
is colder in the northern parts of Spain. Average temperatures in summer in
Barcelona amount to 23°C. Winters are warm, but rainy.
