Climate
The climate in Italy is Mediterranean. Summers are hot and dry. The average
temperature in July in the south exceeds 25°C. A southern wind, sirocco,
blowing form the Sahara brings a lot of warm air. Winters are humid but mild.
Average temperature in January ranges between 13°C in the south to 3°C
in the north-east. Average annual rainfall ranges between 500 millimeters (Sardinia,
Sicily) up to 3,000 millimeters (the Alps). The climate is diversified on the
both sides of the Apennines. Eastern mountain side is drier than the western
side.
